"...yes...hi..." Neil said as he continued to hide behind his mother.

"Cute little wall flower, aint he?" Jill smiled as she picked him up and held him close.

"He's adorable." Renee smiled at Neil.

Ginger tugged away from Mary when the other kitten began pulling her hair and ran over to Jill. "Hey auntie jill." She was a major attention grabber. The tan kitten with red hair smiled at her mother's friend.

"Hello Ginger. How are you?" Jill smiled as Neil buried his face into his mother's neck. The little boy was always clinging to his mother where ever they went.

Renee managed to, gently, take Neil from jill. After this long he trusted her, however thinly. Ginger grinned like a cheshire cat at her 'aunt' "I been to homeschool, and my mommy taught me to make a tin can walky." Thats what she called the simple robots she and Renee made together. Ginger had also inherited her mother's love for machines.

"You did?" Jill smiled sweetly at her. "Well, I hope you don't burn all the fur off your face like your mother did at your age." She teased Renee a bit.

Renee insisted on homeschooling the kittens because, as hybrids, they might face some teasing. Ginger had on a little pair of glasses and she laughed, nodding. They slipped down her nose and she fixed them.

Renee chuckled at the old story and petted Neil's hair, holding him the way she would her own children.

Neil whinned a little before reaching out for his mother. Okay, cat lady held him long enough...Now he wanted back in his mother's arms.

"I really wish you'd send them to public school. Renee." Jill sighed alittle.

Renee passed the boy back, feeling him start to get uncomfortable. She frowned and picked up Mary. "I know, jill, but the other kids have been so hostile." She shook her head. "You remember that older grey kitten that nearly broke Merrick's arm just because he had scales? He was in sixth grade, just imagine what the older kids will do."

"We talking about the same kitten who eats living bugs to feel them die slowly and tried to poison the class pet?" Jill asked as she held Neil close to her. "Cause he shouldn't really count."

"Oh, fine, your right." Renee shook her head. "In a few weeks, when kindergarten is over, I'll enroll them into a public school." she knew judus would like the idea, and she would get more time to herself in the evenings after work instead of schooling the kittens.

Jill smiled as she dug around her purse. "Perfect. Here," She handed her friend a pamflete for a elementary school "This was the school I went to." She explained.

"alright, thanks jill." The Zephyrite tucked the pamphlet into her back pocket and smiled. "Is that where you're going to send Neil?" She knew that the boy was too young for school yet but enjoyed the thought of their children going to school together.

"That's the plan." Jill smiled as she nuzzled Neil's hair lovingly. "Over three generations will be going to that school. Who am I to break tradition?"

"A normal person of our generation." Renee laughed. There was no such tradition in her family, they were sweet and wild and very much fit the description of the wildcats their species resmebled. She nuzzled mary before setting her down. "Can I offer you a cup of coffee?"

"Love one." Jill smiled as she placed Neil on the floor, leaving him with the kittens. He nervously played with his fingers as the protective shield of his mother was now gone.

Renee went into the kitchen with her friend and fixed two large cups of coffee. She drowned hers in cream before taking a sip. "So, how's your father liking the shyness?"

Maverick trotted over to Neil and smiled. "Hey buddy, whatcha up to?"

"Keeps trying to get him to come out of his shell." Jill smiled as she sipped hers. "But I think he likes him being shy cause he's so cute when he does it."

"...nothing." Neil said as he didn't look up.

"He's adorable." Renee agreed, smiling. "But he doesn't even begin to COMPARE to the kittens." The woman laughed agreeabley before whispering. "Especially Avaric."

Maverick nuzzled him, trying to get his friend up onto the floor and playing. "Come on, we should play hide-and-seek!"

"Plus, he keeps bringing up the fact it's like having me at that age again." Jill sighed. "I'm married and have a kid and he still treats me like a toddler."

"...won't we get into trouble?" Neil asked quietly and nervously.

"Jill, you need to let it go." Renee sighed. She hated that jill was so sensitive about her father's affections. "Just take it as a compliment- he loves you, you will always be his little girl, the end.

"Nope, as long as we stay out of mommy's room and the basement."

"Jill, its fatherly love." She smirked. "He has no better stories to tell that haven't been passed around in hero lore." The girls face turned slightly sour. She still hated jill's father, only for his heroism though. Nothing much else bothered her about him.

Maverick nodded. "I promise, everything's okay."

"It's annoying." Jill snapped. "Especially around my son!" Jill loved her father, but wished he'd stop it already with those damn photos.

"Well he has to run out eventually." Renee assured, but he hadn't run out in over twenty years. She and Jill silently swore that he photoshopped most of them just to make it seem like he had an endless supply. Even her father hadn't taken so many pictures of her as a kitten.

"Here," Maverick smiled when Neil finally complied. "You seek, and I'll hide." He offered before calling the other kittens. They all nodded excitedly and took off to join in the game and merriment.
