Renee nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah, by our dumpster." She looked over at jill. "I think someone may have left him, but I have no idea when or who."

Myka looked down at the little marten in surprise. "Hey, Boys," Of course he meant Neil and Ed. "Come look at this."

The tiny marten pup looked around, confused. What was this place? He hugged close to his new mama and examined the surroundings.

Ed slowly got up and walked over to Renee and sniffed the bundle in her arms. 'Did they have another kitten?' He wondered as Neil hugged Ed's leg tightly.

The marten looked over, surprised by the thing smelling him. It moved so that it could looked down on him and accidentally sneezed. "sowy...." It muttered, half-apologetically.

Ed looked shocked then his tail started to wag happily as he licked the marten pup. 'Kipper! You're back!' He woofed happily.

"Kipper?" The marten looked surprise. "I..." He frowned thoughtfully. "I don't know who that is." He flicked his tail slightly and his emaciated, ribbed torso became evident.

Ed's tail stopped wagging as he saw that wasn't his friend. 'oh...I'm...sorry...' He contiued to sulk as he hung his head low.

"Poor little guy...Here," Jill went to the kitchen and got special formula that was more fatty. "This should help with that."

"Is something wrong?" The little animal managed, looked at Ed. What a curious....and friendly... and somewhat repulsive, in a sense, animal.

"Thanks jill." Renee smiled at the animals interacting.

'I...just thought...you were someone I knew...' Ed sighed as Neil continued to hide behind his front legs.

"Oh..." The little pup leaned over further and managed to jump out of Renee's arms. He put a little paw on Ed's head. "It will be okay"

"Oh," Renee looked down in surprise. "Careful sweetheart." She warned with a slight smile at their talking. She needed to think of a name for this little fellow...

Ed smiled a little as his tail wagged. 'Thanks.'

"Don't worry. Eddy's a big baby." Jill smiled as she petted the dog's head.

"Yeah, I know." Renee chuckled. "Im more worried about Mathias hurting himself."

'Who's mathias?" The pup looked up suddenly. He flicked his tail, a little irritated at the new surprise.

'Your new name, I suppose.' Ed smiled at the pup. 'Your 'Momma' picked it out for you.'

"Ooh," Mathias smiled slightly. "Fancy name." He licked his paw and brushed his face with it gently, thoughtfully. "So, what was this kipper fellow like?" His voice had a slight accent too it- he wasnt from around here

The younger marten chuckled lightly. "He sounds like a good business pertner if anything." He flicked his tail again. "So... what sort of operation are you running around here?"

"Op...er...at...ion?" Ed asked confused. 'I'm a pet.'

"Oh, right." Mathias thought about how any marten could not end up egotistical next to him. "Okay then. Uh... what is a pet?" He asked sheepishly. The little creature didn't remember anything before arriving, so it was all odd and new... but his vocabulary somehowdidnt hold back

'Well, a pet is a companion to their owners' Ed tilted his head towards the adults talking. 'We protect them and give them love and in return we're given food cared for and love back.' Ed smiled at Neil hugging his neck.

Mathias looked at the display of affection and smiled. "Thank you for explaining." He ran back to his mommy and nuzzled her ankle. Renee picked him up again and kissed his little forehead. "But I am not a pet, Im her child and she's my mommy."

Mathias frowned slightly. "there's more of me in momma's house?"

Renee stroked his fur gently. "Well I guess as long as he's not some tossed-out Zurg experiment it doesnt matter where he came from." She smiled. Renee wondered if now was a good time to tell judus her little secret or not.
