XL tilted his head. "Alan Gade? Who's he?" He tried to rack his brain to see if he could remember that name, but so far, nothing came to mind.

She shrugged. "My dad, he used to be a ranger here." Renee explained. Bummer. It would have been neat to hear what XL had been thinking when he took a blowtorch to her dad's behind. "But we moved out."

"Moved out? Where did you move to?"

XL tried again to remember Alan's name, but once again, he couldn't remember anything.

"from Zephyr to Earth." she said. "There was a war between us and Shragarakia." the cat shrugged. She flicked her tail. "But we moved back in the past year or so." she rubbed the back of her neck.

"A war? Why's that, Renee?" XL asked.

XL slowly started to remember something this Alan said about Shragarakia. But he still couldn't remember anything about Alan.

"The planet hasn't got the nicest people," Renee said. "They tried a hostile takeover that ultimately failed. the general, Garth Andromeda, was one of my friends dads. He was killed in action." The cyborg sighed. she wished that Zurg had at least left her the eye- it still had that little N carved on the side and everything.

XL pouted in sympathy. "Sorry about that. So this Andromeda was a friend of your dad's?"

"Yeah." Renee nodded. "And his son Kindle was a friend of mine. Up too... a certin point." she nodded. "But it's no problem." the last thing she wanted was sympathy.

XL took a break from his work and went over to Renee.

"Im not sure how long in years, but he spent his academy time there and stayed until about fourteen years afterward." The cat smiled. "He met my mom here. Of course, as it as it is, im stuck here at least till I heal." She looked at all the places where she had been shaved or sewn up. It was kind of grotesque, but would heal soon enough.

"Wow, that's a long time! So he knew Buzz, Ty, and Rocket at the Academy?"

XL scratched his head; there was something he DID remember about this Alan person...

"Yeah," Renee nodded. "They spent a lot of time together." She looked around the copy room and chuckled. "Homey, huh?"

Alan poked his head in the door really quick. "Renee? You okay?"

"Im fine." She nodded to him.

"Alright, becuase Ty told me you had come to look for XL and-" He started to ramble.

"Im okay," She laughed. It was suprising how she had loosened up from yesterday. He smiled shortly and left.

XL perked up at Alan's tone, and then...a smile spread across his face.

"ALAN! How are ya? It's really good to see ya!"

He came over to greet Alan face to face.

Alan's eyes got wide. He rembered XL well enough. the one that had bitten him on the knee. "Hi!" He waved less than enthusiastically. This bot, in his mind anyway, meant trouble for Renee. "XL, how ya doin?"

XL responded very cheefully. "I'm fine! I gotta a job as a photocopier/fax machine on Star Command! I get to be with my brother and dad a lot more now!"

XL asked, "how are ya, Alan?"

"Good, you know, recovering." He rubbed the back of his neck. He had a fair amount of emotional damage because of what Zurg had done too.

Renee smiled. "Relax, dad." She shrugged. "Like Pixel said, I'm still me."

Alan nodded, although he still felt horrible about what Zurg did to his daughter. He only hoped that XL was on the force of good...for good.

XL asked, "Recovering from what?"

Renee had forgotten XL was there. "Uh, problem with Zurg yesterday.. a little bit..." she trailed off and flicked her ears. The cat hated these stupid digital eyes. They didnt have near enough emotion. like, say, fury.

"Uh," Renee watched her father walk out. He didnt want to hear it again. "This." she pointed to her new eyes. "and took a few other.. vitals. She shivvered. She wondered minutely how kindle was coming as far as being repaired. "But.... I'll be fine."

"Hows the attack plan coming?" Zurg demanded at one of the brainpods. Kindle was nearly finished but not fully functional quite yet. They needed just a little more from Renee to get him up and running.

"Almost done with the attack plan, Evil Emperor Zurg." A grub responded as he worked on a machine designed to capture Renee.

"Well, don't dilly-dally all day! Keep working on it until it's done!"

Warp, who was in trouble for loosing Renee in the first place, walked up to Zurg. "Why do you want the dog anyway?" He asked. "Its not like he was anthing special."

"Darkmatter, that dog is my champion of evil! I have to give him whatever is necessary to get him up and about. And the story between him and that Renee is...delicious. I feel myself getting goosebumps from this already!"

Warp only rolled his eyes.
