Growing Pains Aboard Star Command

It was a normal day at Star Command. Rangers coming and going threw the halls, LGMs working on anything mechanical, Star Cruisers blast off and touching down, everything was as it should. 'Boring as spit.' Little 8 year old Jill thought as she at next to her father's desk. It was 'Take your kid to work day' at her school, and she was hoping to have a great time riding around with her father and uncle Warp on 42, but, as luck would have it...she had to come on paper work day. She sighed and put her head on the desk.

Renee, just starting school, was gone today. Buzz smiled down at her. "Having fun Jelly belly?" He asked as he signed another form. He was glad to have company.

"No." She glared a bit. "Why did you have to pick today to do your paperwork Dad?" She threw her arms out. "My report is going to suck big time!" She sat back and pouted as she crossed her arms.

"Well Jilly," he said. "Me filling out this paperwork lets me go on more cool missions, and get more neat weapons."

"So why didn't you do this three weeks ago when I first told you about Take your kid to work day?" Jill spat at her father. He had more then enough time to have done this before today. "Then I would have been able to go on a cool mission or see your neat weapons."

Jill didn't look impressed at him. She knew it was, and he signed up for it today so she'd be stuck here, instead of somewhere cool like Trade World, or Ranok. A gloved hand ruffled her hair from behind.

"Hey, Hey Kiddo!" Warp Darkmatter smiled at his godchild. "Sucked into pure boredom yet?" Jill fixed her hair.

"Psh, you'd better believe it."

He smiled. "Well if you dad will let you, I'm going to the asteroid belt for a security check. Wanna come kiddo?" He asked

Jill perked up and looked to her father sweetly. "Dadd-"

"No." Buzz said. Beating her to the punch. He glared at Warp. "And you're suppost to be doing your paperwork as well."

"I paid one of the interns to do it." The other ranger shrugged.

"Cool you can do that?" Jill smiled. Buzz glared even more.

"No, you can't." He looked to Warp. "We're suppost to be doing this together, you can't pay someone to do your resposibility Warp." Darkmatter rolled his eyes. He knew Buzz was mad at him for setting a bad example to Jill. He shrugged as he turned to go.

"Fine, I'll go get them." Jill pouted as she slumped in her chair. The three jumped as Commander Nebula walked in.

I want those reports done by six." Nebula said, nodding to them. He looked down at Jill. "Your troublemaking kitten counterpart isn't here today?"

"No. She's probably having fun at school." Jill sulked. Nebula's communicator went off, and when he answered it he looked to Buzz and Warp.

"Looks like you two will have to put paperwork on hold." Jill perked up at this. "Just got a call about a smuggling ring on Trade World." She smiled as she leaned forward. "And I'm going to need my best rangers on this." Jill hopped off her chair.

"You heard the man boys, let's go!" She yelped in surprise as Buzz pulled her back by the seat of her pants.

"What?! No way! It's bring your kid to work day! Not Dump your kid off on your friend while you do fun stuff!" Jill pouted as she crossed her arms.

"Dad! Come on!" Jill begged. "My report's going to suck if I don't have something cool to put in it!" She wanted to have a report that would show everyone else in her class up. She got teased for being Buzz Lightyear's daughter, so she needed something to cool to get them to stop.

"No, I'd probably get a cast! How cool would that be?" Jill smiled as Warp tried not to laugh. This kid was a adventure nut, just like her father.

"No offence Mr. Gade, but no." Jill said as Warp left before he began laughing. Buzz rolled his eyes and left. Jill sulked a little.

"Don't worry Jill, we'll have loads of fun while your dad's gone. I'm sure you'll have alot to write about in your report. Whattya say?" He turned to smile at the little girl, but found her gone. "...Oh craters."

Smiling as she snuck aboard Star Cruiser 42, Jill hid in one of the lockers in the locker room. This was going to be sooo cool.

Alan got up, banged his knee on the table, looked around, and ran to the animal labs. "Is Jill in here?" He demanded, holding his sore knee.

"Haven't seen her." Gabby said as she looked up from her reports. "Why? Is she missing?"

Jill was nearly flatten to the locker wall when the spaceship took off. Fighting the wave of nausa that swept over, she rubbed her head. 'Well,' She thought. 'Least the worst is behind me.'

"Well. Go tell Commander Nebula." Gabby said as she went back to her reports. Alan gulped as he went to do so.

Jill smiled as she thought her plan over, she would spy on her dad defeating the bad guys, hide on the ship again, sneak back into star command and have an awsome report to hand in! She smiled as she thought that nothing could go wrong.
