Birthday Party Blunders

It was a regular day at Star Command. Villians captured, evil schemes failing, and justice served. Same old same old. Jill thought as she pulled together the case file from their latest mission. A beep from her computer alreated her to an email. Clicking on it, she nearly had a heart attack as a loud computer voice yelled out "IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY COUNTDOWN!?!" As a banner popped up. 'No...' Jill thought in horror, she thought she had more time... She hoped no one had heard it...maybe she was still safe...

Renee was still reading Nos's report for the week that XL had e-mailed. it was unusually log and perticularly greusome this week. She was surviving school and had only the monday reports and calls from judus, jill, or XL. Also attached at the end of the emial, she noticed, was a clip- Jills birthday was coming!

Jill quickly deleted the email. She was hoping no one had heard the stupid thing. More importantly to her was trying to get by...him. She was looking around the hallways as she walked down them when she bumped into the one thing she was trying to avoid.

"Dad?" She squeaked. She HATED how he’d treat her around this time...’Oh well...’ She thought. ‘Maybe it won’t be so bad this-’

"Jilly!" Buzz smiled widely. "Did you get the e-mail I sent out?" He had succesfully sent the message to his close friends. Even XL had sent it to Renee.

The girl chuckled. "Hey, dad," She quickly saved the rest of the e-mail and showed her father the message. "Look who's got a birthday coming up."

"I'm working my birthday, so I need the forums to sign out." Jill said catching her father's attention. He turned to her and looked at her sadly.

"Work your birthday?" He asked as he walked back up to her.

"Yeah, so?" Jill asked, a little afraid where this was going.

"Why?" He whined. He still needed to know what breed of dog she wanted and couldnt very well throw a party if she was working. "You get a free paid day for your birthday, jill."

"I don't care." Jill snapped despite herself. "I don't want anything special for my birthday!" Of course the Commander had to show up at that time.

"Field Agent Lightyear!" She quickly turned and saluted.

"Yessir!" What ever the Commander wanted it had to be big.

"What's this I'm hearing about you turning 22?" Nebula asked with a smirk as he placed his hands on his hips. 'Oh great...not him too...' Jill thought as she slumped a bit. 'Could this get any worse?'

Kipper jumped up onto the desk and walked across her keyboard, unintentionally opening all her closed pages. Renee went to trying to close them all, expescially the police report file XL had been emailing her

"Dad let-" Jill tried to start as Nebula chuckled and ruffled her hair.

"Seems like just yesterday I was bouncing her on my knee." The Commander smiled at Buzz.

"Yeah, and she was getting into trouble with Renee." Buzz smiled. He kind of hoped she wouldnt come to the party, and so did nebula, but they wouldnt say that to jill.

"Yeah, this is great and all but I need to-" Jill was cut short as Buzz pulled her back into a full hug and nuzzled her hair. "Ow! Dad! Leggo!" She hissed but Buzz just ingored her and continued the embarrassment.

He finally let go with a smile. "Birthday hug." He exlained happily. Nebula laughed calmly. "Okay," Buzz nodded. "Back to work, people."

Renee pressed the close button on the file wuickly and sighed. "The party's tommorow, i think." She said to alan, picking up the marten pup with a smile.

Jill looked angry as Booster walked around the corner with Mira and XR. "Hey, Jill! Happy almost birthday!" The Jo-ad smiled at her.

"Soo what would you like for your birthday there sweet thang?" XR smirked at her.

"Do you want a party? Cause we can set one up at Cosmos and-" Mira began as Jill finally had enough.

"I DON'T want a party, I DON"T want the day off, I DON'T want anything to do with the flipping day. All I DO want is to be left ALONE!" Jill yelled and stormed away.

Buzz frowned. What was wrong with jill? He held up a form to show Booster. "do you think she still wants that puppy?" He asked lamely.

Judus was putting away a few files when Jill stormed past. "Hey, are you alright?" He looked out the door.

"Fine." Jill snapped as she stormed down the the evidance room. Using her card she walked in and smiled at Ed, lying in his bed asleep. She sat down next to him and gently woke him up. The puppy yipped and happily danced around her.

Judus took the moment to follow her and say hi to Ed. "Hey, pup." He went down to pet him. "Guess who might be visiting?" He knew renee would never give up a chance to do something so cruel to jill as throw her a party, so Kipper or 'Kip' was definitely to come along.

"Renee?" Jill asked. She missed her adopted lil soul sister. Ed huffed. He still hated Kip with all his heart. But he looked at his sad mama and nuzzled up to her.

Jill got up as she latched Ed to a leash. "Come on Eddy, Time for your walkies." The puppy yipped happliy and followed Jill out. "See you later Judus." She said with a wave. She wanted to spend as much time with Ed as she could. The trial was over and he was going to be sent to a nature reserve. She wanted to keep the little guy, but...she knew she didn't have the authority nor power to demand custody of the little Raenok Hound. She knew it wasn't fair...but...such was life. She had to be professinal. She had to be strong.

"That was a fun walk, eh buddy?" Jill asked as she unhooked Ed's leash. She walked by the office where she heard giggling and chuckling. Stopping, she turned back and looked in. Buzz was showing off Jill's old birthday party photos. To the whole team.
