"Oh, don't worry," The woman smiled carefully and lifted out a small mouse. It chittered in her hand. "We're testing the final stage of this anesthetic for the medical ward."

"But...won't that kill them?" Jill asked nervously. She knew that most of the medicane was used in human portions and it lead to the poor animals' deaths.

"Oh no, we're using teeny mouse portions." The woman reassured jill. "All we need to check is is this little guy falls asleep"

"He'll wake up right?" Jill asked as the mice still cowered towards her.

"He should." The woman injected the mouse with the right amount of anesthetic and sat him in a seperate cage, alone.

"Won't he get lonley in there?" Jill asked as a mouse grabbed her sock and tried to keep her near them.

"It just takes a minute." the woman watched as the mouse stumbled for a second and fell onto it's back, sleeping deeply.

"So...when does he wake up?" Jill asked after a good long time went by.

"Uh..." The woman looked worriedly at the mouse. "fifteen minutes ago."

"You can wake him up right?"Jill yelled in a panic. "He's gonna be okay, right?!"

"I dont know." The woman shuddered. "Im going to try and wae him up, but you cant be in here." She herded jill out and shut the door. With a worried sigh she lifted the dead mouse out of it's cage and put it into a trash tube. She pulled out an identical mouse and gave it half the original dosage and put it into the tank, then let jill back in.

Jill took one look at the mouse and glared at the woman. "Where's the mouse?"

"No she's not." Jill pointed to it. "This one's a female, the other one was male."

Jill looked at the woman worringly. "The other one died, didn't he?"

Jill was very quiet as she grabbed her bag and left the lab. The woman watched her go then sighed before turning to the now empty tank...wait...She looked down at the cage on the floor.

The little mouse she anesthesized was gone. "Hey! Come back!" she chased jill out of the lab

Jill hid in a broom closet as she petted the mice she saved on the head. "Okay. Down the hall to the left is the cafiteria. You guys can eat there. Top floor second to the right is the emergancy suppy room, you can shred the cots for bedding." The little mice nodded as Jill had the anesthsized one on her head. "She'll join up with you when she wakes up."

Renee left the lab after not getting an answer from the LGMs and heard mumbling in the closet. she pawed at the knob until it opened and saw jill, covered in mice. she swallowed.

"Hey Renee!" Jill smiled as all but one of the mice scurried away. "Whatcha up to?"
