Season 3 - Episode Ideas

If you're working on the Season 3 project, post your ideas for episodes here.

For now, the maximum number of episodes for each of us is 3, but this may increase or decrease depending upon the number of people involved. We are aiming to finish the series at 90 episodes, which gives us 25 to work with. Based upon the transcripts that some of us have made for the real episodes, Steel suggested that 25 pages, or 4000 words, should be the length of an episode, though we can talk about lengthening/shortening an episode if the situation arises. Steel and Ranger-Nova are the current head editors, but feel free to flick through each other's fics and comment!

As for plots, many of us are interested in closing/exploring plots that were introduced in the series - please say which of these stories you're interested in working on, and we can distribute them evenly. If we're going to discuss backstories and over-arching plots, we should do so on a separate topic. This one is sorely for promoting your ideas.

I'm currently looking into doing three episodes - two involving Anti-Buzz (brief plot summaries on the OC topic), and perhaps another involving Buzz seeing Myka again, after the 20 years or so that the two have been apart. I'll probably explore how Myka's society has changed following the downfall of Vartkes' empire, and perhaps how his attitude towards Space Rangers may have changed as he has matured...

As I said before, I'm interested in working on Evilyear. To be honest, though, I'm not sure if three episodes would be enough for what I have planned...perhaps, if others don't mind, I can collaborate with them and include Evilyear as a minor/secondary villain in their episodes?

Just came up with two more ideas for episodes:

• Perhaps an episode where we see some rogue/corrupt Space Rangers? Then again, this would have to be handled well in order to not be a rehash of Warp.
  
• I was watching Star Smasher the other day, and I saw these things hanging out on the Dreadnaught:
  
  They remind me of the famed "Space Jockey" from Alien - what the heck are they? Why are they there? Next-gen troops for Zurg's army, or ancient race suspended in animation? From one of the most average episodes in the series, I think we've just found a potentially great plot focus.
