CHARACTER APPLICATION TEMPLATE

In order for you to roleplay, you need to make a presentation about your character. The presentation normally includes details such as a character's name, age, personality and background, and is a key step in order to be accepted to roleplay. Applications are helpful in order for you to get a better feel for the character, as well as show off a writing example of how well you can pull off said character.

Below is the template you must use when making your character's presentation.

--PROFILE--

Name: *Insert your character's name here, and any titles if they have any.*

Age: *How old is your character? Keep it reasonable, and consistent.*

Species: *Insert your character's species here. Remember that there can only be two halves, and do try to keep mixed heredity to at most fourths. It's difficult to keep track of characters that happen to be 3/2 ettin, 1/4 human, and 1/16 bear. You only need to write a description here if your character isn't human, or not fully human. For established races, it doesn't have to be too detailed--just put down the basics. For original races, do put detail into your descriptions, so we know what they're like.*

Appearance: *Tell us what your character looks like, with as much detail as you feel is necessary. Alternatively, you can post a picture for us, as long as you hide it behind a spoiler tag.*

Personality: *How does your character think, feel, and act, in private and in public? Does he, she, or it have any unusual habits or quirks? Write it all down here with at least two paragraphs (200 words and above).*

Background: *Tell us about your character's personal history--who is the character, exactly, and what has happened throughout the character's life? Use at least two paragraphs (500 words and above).*

Strengths: *Write down any special things your character can do, from cooking to dancing to shooting eye lasers everywhere. Magical, technological, genetic, or otherwise, it all goes in here (at least 3 strengths)*

Weaknesses: *Write down your character's weaknesses, be they physical, mental, emotional, or racial. Anything from their personality to any defects, if they have any (at least 3 weaknesses)*

World: *This section is optional. This is where you put everything about your character's homeworld--what their planet or country is like, their people's culture, etc.*

Other: *Also optional--if you don't have anything to add, omit this. This is for anything you can think of that doesn't fit into the other categories.*

--WRITING SAMPLE--

*Here, you need to write at least two paragraphs (around 500 words) about something your character is doing. Try to keep things detailed. Not too much--we don't expect a novel--but don't be afraid to flesh out the narrative if you're feeling adventurous. This is your chance to show off your writing skills and try to convince us why you should play this character.*

Age Range: *Put one of these: <12 / 12-17 / 18-24 / 25-34 / 35-44 / 45-54 / 55-64 / >65.*

Other Characters: *Put down any other characters you might be ropleplaying and link to their applications.*

If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask an admin or mod, or to ask directly in your presentation at the bottom with an out-of-character message in brackets ((usually shown with double brackets like this)).
