"Snaes aren't slimy." she reminded him. "Scientifically, anyway." The girl both hated and loved the fact that he was jealous. It was a true testament to like-liking. "But you're still my bot." The cat flicked her tail and smiled. It wa adorable when he got mad.

Jill sighed a bit as she was still deciding on what to get Renee for her birthday. Maybe a catnip mouse...nah, the girl was hyper enough...scratching post...no that's what XR was for...a jingly bell? She paused a bit as she wondered how Renee would even react to a jingly bell.

The idea of a jingly bell was almost funny. Jill had to remember- she wasnt all cat.

"So," Renee jumped off the topic before he could grumble any more. "Whats everyone planning for my birthday?" she chuckled. One thing the cat knew she wanted but couldnt have as long as she was on Star Command- a pet. Any pet, as long as it was something she wouldn't eat. Or course she wouldn't ask XL for that, though. She had been dropping hints to other people for the last few days though.

"Well, I won't go into detail..." XL started. "But a certain kitty, may be getting a certain something she's been begging for for a long time." XL said. "And That's all i'm saying."

Jill looked threw her books for a pet that Renee wouldn't use as a late night snack. Mice, small mamals, birds and reptiles where out of the question.

Renee's eyes got wide. She smiled a little evilly. It wasnt hard to take her smile as evil- especially with fangs like hers. "Good enough." She shrugged. Two days to her birthday. It wasn't that long to wait.

Jill sat back and thought of what kind of animal she should get Renee. A kitten would just be weird, and a dog would probably scare her...She shuttered at the thought of giving her a hamster...poor little thing wouldn't last a minute with her. She groaned and placed her head on her desk.

Renee wouldnt have minded a dog as much as people would think. She had never been scared of them and was getting over the fact that Kindle had pretty much been a dog. She petted XL affectionately again. "Looking foreward to it, hotbot."

Jill hummed as she thought of the possibilites of a pet for Renee. Maybe a house plant? ...No that would be too cruel. She sighed as she got up and walked to the only person she knew who would now the best pet for Renee. "Mr. Gade?"

Alan turned around and smiled. "Yeah jill?" He had been trying to decide what to get renee to. The idea was some new furniture for her room or a music player. "Whatcha need?"

"I wanted to know, what kind of pet would Renee like?" Jill asked. Surely her father would know what kind of pet his own daughter would want. Course, she herself still hadn't recived that puppy she had begged Buzz for since she was 4.

Alan put a claw on his lip. Of course he still had something against dogs because kindle had torn her eye out. "Im not sure. I'ts hard to shop pets for zephyrites." He shurgged. "No fish, no cats, no dogs, no small rodents.... maybe a ferret or something?" A large member of the rodent family was fine. And, because he wouldnt let his daughter have a puppy, he would allow that. "Or a marten. they're her favorites."

Jill hummed and turned to go. Martens where hard to get, they were put on the endangered species list a while back. She continued to think when it hit her. Maybe a Hedgehog would suit the cat's fancy? They weren't rodents, not endangered and she could feel better about the slim chance of Renee eating one.

Alan smiled. He continued his web search on modern weaponry. Jill would think of something. Renee was, after all, practically the girls sister. Renee had even told him that when and if she had kittens of her own jill would be the godmother. Who else was she going to trust anyway?

Jill was looking up loacl petshops for Hedgehogs. She smiled at the cute little pincushions. Renee would love this. They were cute, easy to care for, non eatable...the list went on. She didn't notice that said cat was looming behind her.

"Whatcha looking at?" Renee leaned over her friend's shoulder. "Cute little miniature poruipines?" The girl chuckled. she had a feeling this was for her. But, not for her to see yet.

Jill's heart nearly popped when the cat scared her. She quickly composed herself. "No, they're hedgehogs." Jill said smoothly. "I'm updating the labs' data base with classic animals found before the alliance." Yeah...that's a great lie. She thought while patting herself on the back mentally.

"Good enough." Renee didnt buy it for a second. "I saw plenty of the little things on earth. Cute, arent they?" She smiled. "Filling up where they are sold too?" she pointed out a pet store on the search.

A few days later at the party...

Renee's eighteenth birthday counted as both a birthday abd a farewell. She had to leave in a day and go back home. Everyone was excited and had croweded into the boardroom for the party. Renee was not there yet though and had no idea it was happening.

Jill smiled a little at her present, she hoped Renee liked it, it took her an hour to find the place that sold them, and forever filing out paperwork.

"Stop following me!" XR snapped as Renee was bugging him as he headed towards the board room. He was the bait to get her to go to the boardroom without rasing suspition.

"Come on, everyones out on missions!" Renee hined. at least that was what she thought anyway. "Even judus got sent in for training, and XL had a toner check." She had been left alone almost all day. Snack Chips was the only one left on board she wanted to hang out with, it seemed.

Renee chased him into the dark. "Hey!" she was suprised by the sudden dark. "XR what are you doing?" she asked impatiently. It was like he had dissapeared. The room was silent.
