Mira's Mother
We never hear Mira's mother mentioned at all in the show or any official merchandise and whatnot. Fans have speculated that Mira's mother may be deceased. However, I stumbled upon the UK Disney Channel site and found a section that still had BLoSC-related information and tidbits a few weeks back, and on Mira's bio it said the following:
Maybe her mother isn't dead, but divorced King Nova at some point and is living somewhere else? It could explain Mira's spitfire personality. She doesn't like how Tangea runs things. Maybe her mother thought so too. But that also begs the question why does she only talk of her father? Her mother should be dead by all rights because Mira seems to be very close to her father despite him ticking her off, but this small detail just threw me off completely. Unless it's just a statement and clarifying that Mira isn't a "bastard" child and that her mother was indeed the Queen at some point. It only confirms that her parents are of royal blood and doesn't say whether she lives (or lived) with them at all... hmm.
You can check it out here and browse around everyone else's biographies and play some of the games, but that was the part that stuck out the most to me and I figured I'd share to hear your opinions on it.
It's mostly stuff we already know, but for the first time her mother is mentioned. Now, how reliable would you guys say that this source is? It's technically "official" since it's on Disney Channel UK, but do you think they might have just chucked that in so little children wouldn't wonder why it only mentioned her father... or is there something else going on?Mira's home planet of Tangea is the most intellectually advanced in the Galactic Alliance. Her father is the King of Tangea, and her mother, the Queen. Mira has developed her brain power to a mystical level. If she concentrates very hard, she can "ghost" through solid walls.

Re: Mira's Mother
Hmm, I have a really weird theory and I could be like wayy wrong buut what if Mira's mother had been a Grounder? I mean if she had left the king or whatever it would explain her father's distrust of them. It would also explain why you never hear of her...again this idea just popped into my head buut idk.

Re: Mira's Mother
That's an interesting theory, but given how much Tangean Royals absolutely despise Grounders, I don't see King Nova getting over his prejudice of him very easily. And even though, technically speaking, they are both Tangeans, they look drastically dissimilar. The only thing that still "connects" the two races are their mental powers. I don't think it would be biologically possible for Mira and, say, Romac to have children. But if it was possible for them to have children, I think the children would have characteristics from both races, whereas Mira is clearly a Tangean Royal with nothing that alludes to her having Grounder heritage.
Re: Mira's Mother
Steel, that site that you found is awesome! Makes me feel like a kid again... or at least makes me even more of a kid than usual.
Mira, your theory about Mira's mother is quite interesting. Perhaps the Royals and Grounders once existed side-by-side, but Queen Nova's departure brought in a new era of contempt where Grounders lived in exile on Tangea's surface. Mira was perhaps too young to remember this event.
I suppose though, Steel, your comment on race and the limitations in genetics that it brings is also quite firm.
What if Queen Nova was killed by a Grounder?

Ohh I like that idea Olivius! Not only would it explain Tangean's distrust of them, it would also explain Mira's mom never appearing. And I guess you're right Steel, then again it was just a really random idea I had come to my mind.

Re: Mira's Mother
If we're going the typical Disney route, then it could be possible that Mira's mother is, well... dead. They don't even mention the "Queen" at all in the show -- perhaps it being too touchy for the characters, no?
As for race-mixing the Grounders and the Tangeans, if this were true then Mira Nova should have had more Grounder-like traits. However, since she looks like a through-and-through Royal and cancels out all Grounder powers in her nearest vicinity, most likely she is not a product of race-mixing. If anything, her mother was a Royal who is strangely... absent.
Maybe they didn't want to find a VA for her mother and decided to cut her? The reasoning is certainly out of our grasp at the moment.

Re: Mira's Mother
Gosh, it's been so long since I last looked at this thread... my bad!
But yeah, on the subject of genetics, I just don't think the two races would be able to have offspring, even if they used to be "one species" at some point. They just look far too disimmilar, if you ask me.
That, however... is an interesting theory! It seems like Tangeans detest how dirty and earthbound Grounders are on a whole, but that specifically might be a factor to why King Nova himself is so damned opposed to Mira consorting with Grounders.
And that sounds like the most likely theory. Oh, Disney, so predictable. Her mother is dead, and thus never mentioned--and maybe she is only mentioned on the site because there were plans to include her, but they scrapped the idea early on or couldn't find a voice actor in time. It's possible, as well as highly probable.
It sure made me feel like a kid! I went on a print screen spree, to be honest... *shot*Olivus Prime wrote:Steel, that site that you found is awesome! Makes me feel like a kid again... or at least makes me even more of a kid than usual.

Yeah, she's a Tangean through-and-through. Otherwise, she and Romac might have figured out there was something else going on if their powers were't cancelled out and if Mira, say, could fire sparks from her head like he and the other Grounders can.EEZ wrote:If we're going the typical Disney route, then it could be possible that Mira's mother is, well... dead.
