"Hey everyone!" Renee jumped up and down. "Garth and Kindle are here!"

Jill tilted her head a bit. "Who?"

"Garth Andromeda is daddy's boss." Renee explained. "He's bringing his puppy Kindle."

About then a large quadropedal dog, at least five feet tall at the shoulder, walked in with a puppy roughly jill's size. Kindle was clamped securely and caringly in his arms. He barked excitedly and waved to the other kids.

Garth set Kindle down and went to stand with Alan and Ginger, raising up onto his hind legs to ten feet tall. Kindle trotted over to Renee. "Hey." He nuzzled her faintly.

Jill smiled. It was like looking at a puppy and a kitten people size playing together.

Renee petted Kindle happily and ran outside again, the other kids following. There were at least ten of them all together.

Out of the blue Kindle started barking madly. Renee shrieked. A large, ugly spider was crawling over the fence. Alan ran out in time to see the monster insect moving along the backyard. "Remember what i said hunted the beetles?" Hadan whispered to her. "I meant ground spiders."

Alan grimaced and went inside to grab his laser. The spiders were nonvenomous, but nasty all the same. The kids, including kindle, stormed inside behind him.

Jill knew this wasn't going to end well, but since she was a guest at a strange planet she had to respect their culture. She hid under a table and covered her ears.

Garth came outside with alan, both aiming madly with their lasers. With a loud bang, the spider was on it's back. Alan sighed deeply. "Somebody going to help me haul this thing out of here before it wakes up?"

Jill had heard the blast and felt her stomach turn. Okay this party wasn't that great.

"Did you see that? My dad tossed it right over the fence!" He boasted.

Jill gave a shutter as she rubbed her arms. She didn't feel very good, but she didn't want to ruin Renee's birthday.
